General & legitimacy
Is SettleKaro a bank, NBFC, or RBI-regulated entity?+
No. SettleKaro Private Limited is a private debt resolution service (CIN: U70200UP2026PTC247774). We are not a bank, NBFC, ARC, or RBI-regulated lender.
What we do: help you negotiate, understand your rights, and walk you through resolution. What we don't do: lend money, hold deposits, or represent any lender.
Do you provide loans or top-ups?+
No. SettleKaro never lends money under any circumstance. If anyone claiming to be from SettleKaro offers you a loan, it's a scam — please report to grievance@settlekaro.in.
Are you a law firm?+
No. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or courtroom advocacy. For matters that require formal legal representation, you will need to engage a qualified advocate directly. We will tell you on the free call when this is the case.
Lender coverage
Which lenders do you handle?+
All major Indian banks, NBFCs, and digital/app lenders — over 200 covered. From HDFC, ICICI, Axis, SBI Cards to KreditBee, Fibe, CASHe, Slice, MoneyTap, MoneyView, and many more. See our full list on the homepage.
What types of loans do you settle?+
Credit cards, personal loans, app loans, BNPL, and unsecured business loans. If you have a loan that's unsecured (no asset pledged), we likely cover it. Call us to confirm.
My lender isn't on your visible list — can you still help?+
Almost certainly yes. Our visible list shows the most common 200+. We work across many more — give us a call and we'll confirm.
Pricing & payment
How much does SettleKaro cost?+
Two parts: a one-time onboarding fee based on tier (₹499–₹1,499 + GST), and a SettleKaro service fee of 7% + GST of total outstanding, split as 4% in month 1 + 3% in month 2. See full pricing.
When do I pay each fee?+
Onboarding fee: only after you've agreed to onboard following our free call. Month 1: 4% within 30 days of enrollment — once paid, we forward your case for negotiation. Month 2: 3% within 60 days — we deliver a verified settlement letter.
Is there a refund policy?+
Onboarding and service fees are non-refundable. That's why we always start with a free 15-minute consultation — we explain exactly what we'll do, what's realistic, and what's not. You pay only if you agree to onboard.
Are there any other charges during the case?+
No SettleKaro fees beyond onboarding + 7% service fee. You'll be responsible for the negotiated settlement amount payable to the lender — but only after we verify the settlement letter for you.
Process & timeline
How long does settlement take?+
Typically 3–9 months. App loans often resolve faster (weeks to a couple of months). Larger credit-card or personal-loan cases take longer because banks have stricter internal approval matrices.
What's a realistic settlement percentage?+
Most settlements land between 30%–60% of outstanding, depending on age of debt, lender policy, and your repayment capacity. We never promise a specific number.
What documents do I need at the start?+
For the eligibility check: nothing. Just answer a few questions. After onboarding, we'll request loan statements, lender communications, and basic KYC. All shared securely.
Can I stop mid-case?+
Yes, but onboarding and service fees already paid are non-refundable. We hand you the case file and open communications so you can continue independently or with another service.
Harassment & rights
Can lenders arrest me for not paying?+
No. Loan default is a civil matter. Recovery agents threatening "immediate arrest" are bluffing — and that threat itself is a violation of the RBI Fair Practices Code that you can report.
Can recovery agents call my office or family?+
They can call references you provided at loan origination, but they cannot disclose your debt to them, use abusive language, or call them repeatedly to embarrass you. These are reportable violations.
Is recording a call legal?+
Recording a conversation you are personally a party to is legal in India and admissible as evidence. Always record your own calls with collection agents.
Credit score impact
Will settlement destroy my credit score?+
If you're already missing EMIs, your score has already taken a hit. After settlement, the account is reported as "settled" (not "closed") on your credit report for 7 years. Most clients are already in deep stress — settlement at least stops the bleeding.
Can I get loans again after settlement?+
Yes, eventually. Lenders see settled accounts as a risk marker, but as your behaviour improves and the mark ages, credit access typically returns within 2–4 years.
Data & privacy
What happens to my data?+
Stored securely. Used only for your case. Never shared with lenders without your written consent. Never sold. DPDP-compliant. See our privacy policy.
Will my employer or family find out?+
Not from us. We never contact your employer, family, or references about your case. Whether your lender contacts them is a separate matter — and one we actively work to stop.
Ready to take back control?
Free 15-minute consultation. No obligation. If you agree to onboard after the call, only then payment starts.
